Life in General with a few twists

 Testing the water

well this morning I sat with DH & pitched my case about adopting a little boy. I explained the financial implications & the fact that we already have everything for a baby so there will be no big financial outlay to start with....I could see the wheels turning in his mind so I left it at that for a bit.....

Then I called the Agency we got the girls from under the pretexted of wishing them a Merry Christmas & peaceful new year. After a short chat with the head of the Homefinding team I mentioned that we are thinking about adopting again, the social worker was very interested & wanted to know what sex we where looking for & when would we be looking at fetching the baby. So I said a boy & only in March. To which she replied " I see no problem with that as we know your family very well & there are a lot of boys looking for good homes" She suggested that once we had totally made up our minds we just need to send her an email informing her that we want a little boy around March & any other specifications. She also mentioned that the cut off age for adopting through tem is 45 so I have plenty of time to adopt a few more kids .

In the mean time I will be putting a photo profile together as well as get copies of all the needed documents. I did say that if we do adopt again we would really like one with out any complications like what we have had with both the girls.

Now I will give DH a few days to stew & think about what I said. In the mean time R has agreed to let me have GB's clothes he has out grown. This will help a lot. I also have to thik about the age of the bay we want to take on. I have to admit that it feels as if steffy has grown up way to quickly but them we got her when she was 8 months old. Yeah I know that the younger he is the less sleep I will be getting....oh drat .... what to do? I guess i will eave it in there hands & let them match us with the baby they feel is correct for our family. This is if I can convince DH to go for it....

Well we are off to a friends tonight to see the New year in & I will be back at work on the 2nd... Have a wonderful & safe 2008.

Blessings from
Me & all the kids,

 How to convince DH.

Well after chatting to a frined of mine who has adopted 3 kids about wanting to adopt again & poor Dh's reaction to my "BRIGHT" idea she gave me a few sneaky tips on how to convince him. Here is how she does it.... she keeps talking about the new baby as if its a done deal... then after awhile her DH actually thinks its his idea... pure evil I really like this girls style. She has managed to adopt 3 kids in one year, one of which is a special needs child, wow.... I have a lot of respect for her. She is a great mom & is doing a wonderful job with her new brood.

 I must be nuts.

For some silly reason unknown to myself I have this urge to adopt again. I honestly do not know what has brought this on. As I said in my interview with Angie DH will run a mile if I mention it to him….. So the question to ask is why do I want to adopt again? Well I honestly can not give a compelling answer that will convince DH. My reasons start off with me having this HUGE need to adopt. To there being so many kids out there that need homes so why not our home, to me just wanting more kids.

Yes I know I have a soon to be 18 year old who should have cured me from wanting more kids, yes I have a soon to be 16 year old who has given me so few problems he is a true Angel. Yes I have a3 year old who is so stubborn it is scary. Yes I have a 17 month old who is going into her terrible 2’s & boy can she trough a tantrum. & even with all of this I still want more kids I must be stark raving nuts….

None of our adoptions have been easy, Steffy’s adoptions is only going to be finalised at the end of January.

I was thinking(hoping) about fetching our new baby around the end of March…holy hell I am nuts…This will only happen if I contact the social worker in the next few weeks to let her know we are looking to adopt & send her all the docs she needs again including a photographic portfolio. Also my adoption timeline is slowly coming to an end as once you hit 40 they do not really like letting you adopt & I am nearly 38.

So how do I explain to DH I would like to adopt again how do I convince him to do it again?

Sunday News on Benjamin
A prayer vigil.

(Dec 23, 2007) -

Hello beloved friends

Today Benjamin is doing a little better. In the evening he developed a fever which the doctors were anticipating and began immediate treatment with IV antibiotics. He is able to swallow liquids if you syringe them into his swollen mouth and is rational enough to understand that the more he drinks the faster he will heal so he always says he will have "just one more" when he has reached his limit.

He is very tired but insists on hearing all the news from home and is excited to hear that we have decorated the house for Christmas, thanks to the tireless and wonderful efforts of the Spessert family (visiting us for 2 weeks over Christmas). We promised Ben the decorations would stay up until he comes home so that he can see how it all looked.

Last night the family held a prayer vigil for Ben, it was very moving.

Each of the children thought of a reason why they love Benjamin, they lit a candle and said a prayer for him.

After the prayers we took a letter of each reason why Benajmin is loved to the hospital and shared it with him.

He especially loved Khensani's reason: "I love Benjamin because he always squeezes me in a tight hug and kisses me on the cheek till I yell!"

Thank you for all the kind messages and please keep on the wonderful prayers.

Ben has to go into theatre again tomorrow to assess the progress and put fresh dressings on. We pray that doctors will see a miracle when they undo those bandages.

Lots of love
